Great drone no complaints

Great reliable and affordable drone. I flew this drone out over 300 meters with stock controller at 55meters up. I Stopped because it was becoming hard to see. The FPV was clear the whole time. This was without the mods on the controller. The altitude hold mode was fun with the additional speed. The manual mode was a blast. If you are not an experienced pilot and do not understand drone orientation, do not use those modes. You will crash. GPS is perfect for the beginner.

I’ve only flown a total of 4 times so far, due to wind. It’s always windy here this time of year. In those 4 times, I’ve tried all the different modes that I know of, and they all work. Circle fly is really cool 🙂 It’s very stable and hovers well. The GPS mode is really nice and stable, and eliminates nasty surprises. I’m pretty new to drones, and especially FPV, but really, it’s all pretty easy with this machine. I’ll probably add upgraded antennas soon, I’ve already gotten hit with some interference, probably coming from a very close cell tower, and I was a ways out there as well. Overall, I have to hand it to Hubsan on this ‘copter, I really like it. My first drone was a Parrot Bebop, I really liked it too, but I don’t like using my cell phone as the controller, plus the flights are pretty short duration as well. Not so with the Hubsan, I get 19-20 minutes per flight every time. Now I just need a couple extra batteries, and I’ll be set. Good machine overall, no regrets
Buy a Micro SD chip along with the drone

Before you fly this great drone, be sure to study the manual carefully especially if you are flying a drone for the first time. I studied the manual at least 4 times and took notes. Then I watched several YouTube videos then did all of the calibrations before flight. When I made my first flight, I was ready to fly the drone without any problems. Buy a SD chip when you buy the drone so you can record the video of your first flight. It works like a dream come true!!!
Fun & easy – be sure you calibrate compasses properly

It’s been great. A couple of near flyaways resulting from poorly calibrating the compasses pre-flight (my fault), so make sure you watch plenty of youtube videos on properly calibrating and everything else. Also once you’re feeling brave enough to switch from gps mode to altitude-hold, keep in mind that it can zoom out of control pretty quickly & give yourself plenty of room. 🙂
Ready to fly, up to 250m. Then you hit return home and it flies away like in my video.

Edit; I changed this from a 2 star to a four star because I was asked too, and I removed my video of the quad flying away. In the video, I have GPS mode engaged from beginning of flight to the point of hitting return to home. Less than 200 meters straight up. You can see the distance is only 0 meters when I hit return to home. Then it took off. And did not return. I’m not new to quadcopters. I’ve flown this about 20 battery packs now and was completely familiar with the controls of what has now become paperweight with my photo probably on the SD card. I cannot locate the drone. I was using the firmware that came with the drone, as you can clearly see with the altitude limit. It’s brand new. As I noted in the video, usually it faced toward me when RTH was hit, this time I can’t tell. Couple little issues here and there. One con is the lack mods to make it fly better, that would have been cool to be able to modify it. Manual flight is weird. It has a maximum altitude of 250 meters then the drone stops itself in any mode. FAA says we’re not supposed to go above 400 feet anyways but still. Why limit it. I see a lot of people have little complaints about this drone.
Best Gift, Flies Great & Lots of Functions

Purchased as a gift for my husband. Chose this one after he spent hours researching options and watching videos. Has only flown it a couple of times due to winds & rain, but he’s been very happy with the performance as it is exactly what he researched. Great option for an entry-level drone flyer.
